 Watawieh yorlye! I learnt that greeting last year when my family and I went on a holiday to Norfolk Island. We had a great time there. Norfolk Island was a fun and relaxing holiday place.
On Norfolk Island, we stayed at the Hillcrest Gardens Resort in our own self-contained cabin. We had an excellent view out to the ocean. The sea all around Norfolk Island was a really deep blue colour - my dad took heaps of photos!
There were lots of things to do on Norfolk Island. During our holiday, we did some great walks along the high cliffs; we spotted the rare Norfolk Island green parrot and we explored the convict ruins (they were lit up and a bit spooky at night). We also did lots of duty-free shopping (mum bought three bottles of perfume and my sister and I bought Barbie dolls for only $7 each!).
My favourite thing at Norfolk Island was the Glass Bottom Boat tour. It took us over the reef at Emily Bay. We saw beautiful coral and tropical fish as we cruised around the bay and we fed some seabirds as we went. It was fun and informative.
My whole family enjoyed the restaurants and cafes on Norfolk Island. I love seafood, and the fish they served was really yummy. Wherever we went, the Norfolk Islanders made my sister and I feel very welcome.
I would tell any family that Norfolk Island is an excellent place for a holiday.
