 Located in the grounds of Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo. Accommodation is in Africian-style tents with all the creature comforts like beds and ensuite in the tent. At the front door, you are looking out at the Africian Savannah, watching giraffes, zebra and other exotic animals roaming. At the back door is a walking trail, minutes to the cheetah enclosure and further adventure takes you to the back of the white rhino and zebra enclosure. There are seven tents available, making it more personal and not over run and your tour guide is staying at the main house, if needed, where delicious meals are served. This 'adventure' holiday is only available as a one night package deal - including two days entry to the zoo, three course meal, three one and half hour very informative tours (afternoon, night and early morning) getting you up close and personal with the animals, free bike hire, full country breakfast and discount at the gift shop.
The kids love the freedom to roam and explore and get to experience the opportunity to feed giraffes and watch hippos and elephants being up close and personal. This is truly a once in a life time experience for the whole family. With the tour activities, you have the opportunity to learn additional information about these extraordinary animals and you are kept on the go from the minute you book into the lodge at 2:00pm to check out the next morning at 10:00am. The meals were fantastic, with a great variety and there was ample meal size, so you were not left feeling hungry. My girls thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and we highly recommend it to any family wanting to do something that little bit different. The staff were fantastic and the whole concept of the accommodation was great. The favourite things were numerous, from riding the bike through the zoo to feeding giraffes, scratching the wombat's back, watching the siamang monkeys. Simply the best holiday for any family.
