Holidays with Kids: Writer's Guidelines
Here are a few guidelines to help you tell us about your holiday:
· Make your story informative: Incorporate useful information into your story. What recommendations do you suggest for families at this particular place?
· Make the story personal: We want to know what YOU did during you holidays. What problems did you have? How did you overcome them? Did you and your family enjoy the holiday? Why? Why not? Tell us what it feels like, smells like, tastes like.
· The story should evoke ambience: Why would someone go there? Why did you go there? Take the readers through the experiences you are writing about.
· Be specific: Name names and places. What places did you visit? Did you have a tour guide? What was their name?
· Your stories could include conversational quotes: Did you meet any interesting locals or travellers on your holidays that gave you advice or told you stories? Do you remember what they told you like it was only yesterday?
· Photographs are important: What better way to compliment your holiday stories than with photographs? Show us the far off destinations you visited, the locals you managed to take picture of and even your family if you like. Please note: no more than 5 images at 72dpi.
And Holidays with Kids does not let hard work go without a token of appreciation. Every submission will be rewarded with a gift for your child. So start typing and get those stories out to us!
Don't worry if your spelling or grammar isn't too good. We will edit your story before we make them live.
