Melbourne just got a HUGE new indoor playground

Families in Melbourne’s south-east have a new place to play, with Hoopla Pakenham, one of Australia’s largest indoor playgrounds, now open.

The new 6,000sqm family entertainment venue opened on 3 August at 10 Meadow Parade, Pakenham, bringing a huge mix of activities for kids and adults under one roof. Part of a $15 million entertainment precinct, Hoopla has been designed as a destination for the whole family, rather than just a traditional indoor playground.

What can kids do at Hoopla?

The centrepiece is a gigantic interactive soft-play playground packed with climbing structures, slides and obstacles. There is also a fully enclosed toddler zone designed specifically for younger children. For little racing fans, Hoopla has a dedicated race car track, where kids can get behind the wheel and put their driving skills to the test. There is also Messy Play, where children can get stuck into activities including slime-making and splatter art. Sessions also have different themes, including Space Explorers and Under the Sea Adventures. Messy Play runs at 10.30am every Monday and Wednesday during school terms. Older kids and adults can also explore the venue’s retro arcade games and racing activities, making it easy for families with children of different ages to find something to do.

Parents can relax while the kids play

Hoopla isn’t just about the kids. The venue has a full-service restaurant and bar serving café-style breakfasts, pub classics and barista-made coffee throughout the day. There is also a fully licensed bar for adults.

Planning a birthday party? Hoopla has dedicated party rooms, as well as fully licensed private function rooms overlooking the entertainment area.

How to get to Hoopla Pakenham

Hoopla is located at 10 Meadow Parade, Pakenham, in Melbourne’s south-east. It’s just off Koo Wee Rup Road, with easy access from the Princes Freeway.

There is also plenty of parking available at the venue.

• Friday–Saturday: 9am–10pm 

• Sunday: 9am–6pm 

With its combination of indoor play, racing, arcade games, messy activities, food and dedicated toddler spaces, Hoopla Pakenham is set to be a new go-to destination for Melbourne families looking for an activity that works whatever the weather.
