The votes are in, and the Best Family Ski Resorts in Canada have been announced.
We love Canada’s ski resorts for their beautiful scenery, variety of resorts to choose from with kid-friendly villages, mountain safety precautions, the plethora of family-friendly activities both off and on the mountain, and the fantastic snow quality. Canadian resorts get huge amounts of snowfall each winter, with the most powder falling between December and March. Families can also try snowshoeing, ice skating, dog sledding, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing at these family ski resorts. Canadian snow holidays and resorts are more laid back, less busy, and cheaper than America.
You’ll burn a lot of energy on the slopes, and Canada has juicy, oozy and chocolaty treats to help you refuel. Try poutine – hot chips topped with cheese curds and a flood of gravy, Canadian bacon, cinnamon buns, or maybe a beaver tail. Not really a beaver tail – just shaped like one and made out of fried dough covered with various toppings.
Canada is huge, but most of its top ski resorts are in British Columbia, home to the Powder Highway. The 1,000-kilometre route passes by eight impressive ski resorts dotted among the Kootenay Rockies.
To help you find your perfect winter wonderland, we’ve enlisted a panel of experts. We asked these ski gurus to nominate their favourite family ski resorts in Canada across six categories. We then tallied the votes and combined the scores to determine overall winners in each region, each one a guaranteed crowd-pleaser families will love. Our 2023 awards are your guide to finding guaranteed family-friendly experiences on the slopes. Happy skiing.
