Have you been saving up Qantas frequent flyer points during the pandemic? If so, we have some brilliant news. Qantas will release millions of classic reward seats from Tuesday to celebrate the return of international travel.

This is the largest single release of additional Classic Flight Reward seats in the airline’s history. You can now book rewards seats on both international and domestic flights.
And Qantas has also reduced the price of hotel and holiday packages by 25 per cent for anyone who books with points.
So if you’ve saved a stack of points from Woolworths or cheeky wine orders, you could just score yourself a flight to Fiji.

Where can you go?
Qantas Frequent flyers can use their points across Qantas, Jetstar and more than 45 international partner airlines including Emirates and American Airlines.
Qantas also plans to launch more Points Planes – a flight where every seat in every cabin is available as a reward seat.
Qantas will operate up to five return flights a week from Sydney to London and up to four return flights a week from Sydney to Los Angeles with its Boeing 787 Dreamliners from 1 November.
Flights to Tokyo, Fiji, Canada and Singapore will resume on 18 December 2021. San Francisco, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Dallas will resume by April next year. Flights between Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to resume from mid-December 2021.
Domestic flights will gradually open in the coming weeks as states and territories reach vaccination targets.
Take a look at the table below to see how many points you will need. Remember, when you book a classic reward seat, you will need to pay the taxes, fees and carrier charges. But it will still save you a fortune on your next holiday.

We all need a holiday
If you’ve been stockpiling points, you’re not alone. Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth said thousands of Qantas Frequent Flyers have done the same.
“With members keen to travel internationally and domestically we have released more reward seats to make it easier for our frequent flyers to use their points to go on holidays and be reunited with family and friends in 2022,” Wirth said.
“There’s no doubt we will appreciate travel in 2022 like never before and Qantas is excited to help Australians rediscover the joy of flying and making travel memories with their loved ones.”
