Spain is the perfect destination for families: it’s warm, it has a rich history and culture, the food is amazing and there’s lots to see and do.
Spain has had a long history between being ruled by the Visigoths, then by the Moors and finally by the Christians in the Reconquista. Spain was not always a unified country and even today, the cities have their own unique character, from San Sebastián in the Basque Country to Barcelona in Catalonia.
No trip to Spain would be complete without seeing the capital, Madrid, and the most popular destination, Barcelona. But there are a number of other incredible cities that you should also consider, including Seville, Valencia, Granada, Córdoba, Tenerife, Ibiza and Mallorca.
Besides seeing the landmarks, such as the Sagrada Família in Barcelona and the Royal Palace of Madrid, there are a number of other things to do. Immerse yourself in the Spanish culture and its ‘fiesta’ approach to life, by watching a flamenco performance, for example. Food and wine are a way of life in Spain, so don’t forget to try some of the local cuisine, including paella, tapas and churros.
