Spending a white Christmas in the snow at Sun Peaks Resort in Canada was just as good as Helen Hayes’ family dreamed it would be.
Walking on a frozen lake for the first time is magical. We step onto the ice at Heffley Lake, marvelling at the beauty we find ourselves a part of. A forest of snow-covered trees abuts the lakeshore. We gingerly follow our guide across the slippery expanse. I then spy two huge bald eagles in a tree watching my two sons – Josh and Alex – trying to skate, arms flailing to keep their balance. The eagles are not impressed.
