The Apurva Kempinski Bali certainly lives up to its name, which is drawn from the Sanskrit word for ‘unique’ or ‘unprecedented’. Perched on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, this resort boasts beautiful beaches, superior service and views for days.

Drop in to this island paradise for luxuries like the Reef Beach Club, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a talented Experiential Concierge team that tailor excursions and entertainment to you.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is grand

Grand’ is the only appropriate way to describe this hotel. As soon as guests reach reception, they are faced with eight-metretall, intricately hand-carved gebyok partitions. The partitions showcase the best of Javanese culture.

The hotel’s 475 guest rooms, suites and villas sprawl down the hillside towards the ocean. Either side of the 250-step grand staircase, taking inspiration from Bali’s terraced rice paddies. The jewel in The Apurva’s crown, however, is the Grand Ballroom. It is a 1,076-square-metre, pillar-free venue that looks out over the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean.

Pools and waterslides

While 60 per cent of the hotel’s rooms feature a private plunge pool, there’s still plenty of fun for all guests.

The resort features four pools that cater to the whole family, including a kids’ pool with water slides and an area protected by a breakwall for ocean swimming. Mums and dads who want to enjoy a quieter dip without the excitement of slides will appreciate the 60-metre infinity pool with stunning ocean views. A restaurant in an aquarium

Koral Restaurant is Bali’s first aquarium restaurant. Submerged in a fully functional aquarium, diners will be able to spot schools of fish as they devour dinner – keep your eyes peeled for Flounder and Sebastian. Koral serves freshly barbecued coastal delicacies from around the Indonesian archipelago.

Forget kids’ club, Apurva Kempinski Bali has a family club

Promising to take care of the entire clan, this five-star resort has a fully-fledged family club. The club offers a range of activities to appeal to babies, children, teens and parents. There are Balinese games, puppet shows, mask making, movie time. The Jalak Family Club is open from 8am to 8pm.

Special family classes like cookie making, painting classes, making tie-die shirts and cup cake decoration give the kids something to take home (or eat as soon as they’re done).
