In partnership with Build-A-Bear, Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park’s buffet-style Teddy Bear High Tea features more options than your usual high tea. Get your paws into tasty morsels like the Sheraton honey & sesame chicken karaage, smoked salmon blinis, teddy bear-shaped cupcakes, macarons and tartlets, and a teddy bear crème brulé infused with honey made from the hotel’s rooftop bees. Plus, you’ll get a Build-A-Bear teddy to take home (one between two). Additional Build-A-Bears are available to purchase for $30 each.

Tuck into three tiers of scrumptious treats in The Treasury lobby bar at InterContinental Sydney. The luxury hotel’s offering blends tradition with contemporary flavours, in the historic 170-year-old sandstone building. The kid’s menu features lemon myrtle roast chicken buns and classic egg and cucumber sandwiches, followed by a trio of sweet treats and of course, scones with jam and cream.
Available on weekends only between 11am and 2:30pm. $99 per adult and $45 per child. Vegan and gluten-free menus are available too.
Feast on mouthwatering treats with spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge at quite possibly the highest high tea in Sydney. You’ll find this bird’s eye vantage point on Level 36 at Shangri-La Sydney. This decadent high tea experience is available daily with two seatings, 12pm – 2pm and 2:30pm – 4:30pm. A vegan menu is available too.
Capella Sydney is one of the city’s newest luxury hotels and it offers one of the best high teas in Sydney for kids. Head to Aperture on the hotel’s ground floor and you’ll find a verdant atrium teeming with plants, artwork and a mechanical installation that mimics flowers blooming. Aperture’s Little Stars afternoon tea dishes up ham, cheese and tomato flakey croissants, mini beef Wellington pies and egg and mayo sandwiches. A sweet end to the experience, they’ll devour the fairy lamington and ice cream cookie sandwich.
Aperture afternoon tea is priced from $110 per adult and $45 for kids dining on the Little Stars menu, which includes a juice or babyccino.
Sir Stamford at Circular Quay offers high tea on the weekends in its Highlander Whisky Bar and kids have their very own menu too. They’ll enjoy savoury favourites like mini quiches, beetroot and feta tartlets, finger sandwiches, plus a tasty selection of sweet treats and buttermilk scones.
High tea is available on weekends between 11am and 2:30pm. $39 for kids aged between five and 12.
Another great location for high tea in Sydney with kids is Gunners’ Barracks in Mosman. The historic venue is nestled within verdant bushland and offers tranquil views of Sydney Harbour. A kids menu for five to 12-year-olds is $55 as offers a selection of sweet and savoury pastries, finger sandwiches, scones and their choice of a hot chocolate, soft drink or juice.
You’ll find another great high tea for kids in Sydney at Novotel Sydney Parramatta. An elegant affair for both kids and adults alike, the parent’s high tea experience includes a glass of sparkling wine or fresh juice on arrival, tea and coffee and complimentary car parking. Handy! The dedicated kid’s menu features classic hits including fairy bread, ham & cheese toasties, cheeseburger spring rolls and plenty of cupcakes and slices.
Available on weekends only between 11am and 2pm. $59 per adult and $29 per child aged under 12.
If it’s a high tea with mountain views you fancy, head to the historic Hydro Majestic Blue Mountains. Perched on the edge of the Megalong Valley, here you’ll enjoy a truly sumptuous white table-clothed high tea experience with the backdrop of uninterrupted mountain views. Hydro Majestic’s premium high tea menus are served in The Wintergarden restaurant and offer a traditional, eastern (including rice paper rolls and steamed dumplings) or gluten-free option. The kids’ menu consists of soldier sandwiches, sweet treats, pikelets with jam and cream, and their choice of tea or hot chocolate.
Open daily between 11am and 3.30 pm. Adults from $70 and kids $40.
Also in the Blue Mountains, Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa plates up a gourmet high-tea experience served in Lilianfels Lounge. Tuck into chef-selected sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, pastries and sweets paired with your choice of a barista-made espresso or tea. Children have their own menu featuring a selection of sandwiches, pikelets, fairy bread and treats, served with their choice of tea, hot chocolate or juice.
Available daily between 11 am and 5 pm. Kids are $40 and adults from $65 on weekdays and $70 on the weekend.
QT Gold Coast’s aptly named QTea is a great location on the Gold Coast for high tea with kids. Tuck into honey-roasted pumpkin and sage macarons and sugary sensations like the QT Ferrero. Little Q’Ties can chow down on ham and cheese sandwiches and handmade sausage rolls, finishing things off on a sweet note with the chef’s choice of pastries. For a quirky take on high tea, the Man Tea swaps dainty cakes and towers of scones for hearty grub like cheeseburger dumplings and smoked pork shoulder served with an ice-cold craft beer.
Little Q’Ties dine for $39 per person and their adults from $64 or $89 including a glass of Perrier-Jouet Champagne. High tea is served daily between 10am and 2pm at FIXX cafe.
A visit to Melbourne is not complete without enjoying a cuppa at The Hotel Windsor. Having served afternoon tea every day since 1883, the hotel has simply perfected the tradition. Ribbon sandwiches, warm scones with housemade jam and an ever-changing array or pastries are staples of the menu. A selection of 11 teas, including the signature Windsor blend, are served in elegant silver teapots and Noritake china. Be sure to try the Grey De Luxe tea, enjoyed by members of high society since the 1880s, after it was made famous by British Prime Minister Earl Grey himself. Perfect for special occasions, Pan Pacific Melbourne offers an enchanting children’s high tea party for your little one and 24 lucky friends. The guest of honour can choose from one of four themed teas: Fairy and Princess, Under the Sea, Abracadabra or Superheroes. Three-tiered towers will be tailored to their chosen theme; think shark cupcakes and starfish cookies for Under the Sea and magical rabbit cupcakes and playing card cookies in the Abracadabra set.
Served daily between 1pm and 4pm. $65 for kids and $99 for adults. Minimum 25 guests.
For smaller, more intimate groups regular high tea is available on weekends between 12 and 4pm. Served in the exclusive Pacific Club Lounge, you’ll enjoy views of Melbourne’s city skyline and dine on a menu that blends native Australian, Singaporean and Southeast Asian cuisine. $39 per child, $79 per adult.

For a unique take on the high tea concept, The Flying Brick Cider House on The Bellarine offers a fun ‘high cheese’ experience. Lovers of fine cheese of all ages can dig, dip and taste their way through a mouthwatering menu of truffle baked camembert, blue cheese soufflé, house-made sheep’s labne and finish off on a sweet note with whipped ricotta and white chocolate mousse.

Embark on a culinary adventure celebrating the diverse array of native ingredients at Ayers Rock Resort’s Australian Native High Tea. Tantalise your tastebuds with the likes of lemon myrtle Barramundi tarts, Yulara salt bush caramel Tim Tams and a wild rosella flower mousse. The sweet and savoury treats are paired with fine teas from Blak Brews, and Australian sparkling wine and coffee for the adults.

The Ritz-Carlton, Perth serves a delightful high tea for kids in its Hearth Restaurant & Lounge. Snuggle into a cosy booth and savour a delightful menu of sweet and savoury treats, such as Linley Valley pork with sweet onion jam and sage, and buttermilk and raisin scones with whipped vanilla cream and seasonal preserves showcasing the finest Western Australian produce.
