Located approximately 30 kilometres from Katherine in the Northern Territory, Nitmiluk National Park spans a vast landscape of ancient sandstone escarpments, waterfalls, walking trails and 13 incredible gorges carved over millions of years by the Katherine River. The name “Nitmiluk” comes from the Jawoyn language and translates to “Place of the Cicada Dreaming,” reflecting the deep spiritual and cultural significance of the region to the Jawoyn people.
