Biggest dog park in the Southern Hemisphere to open in Melbourne

A paw-some new doggy destination is on the way to Melbourne, and it could become the ultimate playground for pups of every shape, size and personality. 

Dogs Victoria is investing $12 million to transform KCC Park in Skye into the Southern Hemisphere’s largest dog park, creating a huge community recreation precinct dedicated entirely to our four-legged mates. The expanded park is expected to welcome its first wagging tails in early 2027.

How big will it be?

Spanning 30 hectares, the revamped KCC Park will be packed with tail-wagging attractions designed to suit every kind of canine. The redevelopment will feature six purpose-built off-lead areas tailored to different dog sizes, breeds and temperaments, including quieter zones for less social pups. There’ll also be a five-kilometre walking track, dedicated facilities for dog sports, on-site grooming, a doggy daycare and even a lake where water-loving pooches can enjoy a splash. 

Do you have to pay to enter?

As part of the expansion, Dogs Victoria is launching a new Community Membership program, opening up its facilities, education programs and activities to all Victorian dog owners for the first time. Previously, many of these services were available only to members. 

The annual membership is expected to cost around $200 and will give dog owners access to the off-lead zones, walking tracks, community events, behaviour training support and a range of other member benefits. It will also provide a pathway for owners and their pups to get involved in dog sports across Victoria.

Where is KCC Park in Skye?

Located at the corner of Western Port Highway and Wedge Road in Skye, KCC Park is set to become a paw-fect destination for dogs and their humans alike. 

Dogs Victoria says more details about membership options and access arrangements will be released ahead of the planned early 2027 opening.
