Famed as the Soft Coral Capital of the world, with locals known for their laid-back positivity and love of running on ‘Fiji time’, we’re not hard pressed for reasons to love a Fijian getaway. But to sweeten the lure, Fiji kid’s clubs are some of the best in the world. From the amazing staff and cultural influences to outright craziness and outdoor fun, here’s our pick of some of Fiji’s finest programs for young ones.

Coconut Kids’ Club, Plantation Island Resort

Plantation is overflowing with resort activities for all guests to enjoy. The Coconuts Kids Club underwent a FJ $1.6 million redevelopment. Kids can play in an interactive space and build their sense of adventure, in what the resort believe to be Fiji’s best kids’ club. There is a dedicated zone for toddlers, a reading area, arts and crafts area, cooking area and media room. Located just footsteps from two playgrounds, one designed to cater for the littlies with an enclosure, and another for the bigger kids as well. The kids’ club also has a dedicated kid’s buffet and dining area where kids can eat for free each night.

The  Coconut Kids’ Club is suitable for children aged 4 -11 and the Lairo Club for teenagers aged 12 – 16. Both are complimentary for resort guests. 

Yanu Yanu at Tia’s Treehouse, Malolo Island Resort

‘Yanu Yanu’ is Fijian for ‘island’ – and that’s what Malolo’s program is all about – giving four to 12-year-olds a true island experience. Every aspect is fun, innovative and educational. Kids can feed fish, learn about iguanas and other fauna, discover traditional Fijian dress making and the many dialects of the Fijian language. There are also visits to local communities and neighbouring islands. Most activities are free with a few requiring a small fee. It runs 9am to 9pm each day, with breaks around meal times.

Castaway Kids’ Club, Castaway Island Fiji

The Castaway Kids’ Club is all about hands-on activities: making boats out of coconuts, building sandcastles, swimming competitions in the well-designed kids’ pool and so on. It’s quaint, relaxed and perfectly suited to the idyllic surroundings. What makes it stand out most is the fantastic staff running the program; they’ll capture the hearts of every child with their vivacious cheer. It’s aimed at kids from three years and up, and runs daily between 9am to 4.30pm and 6.30pm to 10pm. Best of all, it’s totally free.

Bula Club, Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort Fiji

From 8am to 9pm each day, the Bula Club has little guests on the go. It’s a complimentary service that incorporates all Jean-Michel’s fantastic facilities and even includes fresh, healthy meals. The Bula Club is broken up into two age groups – the Lei Lei Program for kids up to five years old, and the Marau Program for six- to 12-year-olds. The Bula Club philosophy is helping children better understand their world. It’s fun and environmentally-minded perfection.

Mei Mei Centre, Mana Island Resort & Spa Fiji

The Mei Mei Centre (for those up to 12) runs three brilliant sessions each day, encouraging kids to get out and experience Fijian culture, nature and traditional pastimes. Even the littlest family members are after at the crèche by the friendly staff for FJ$5 per hour.

Little Riggers, Beach Riggers and Teen Activity Program, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort

Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort understands that family fun does not end at 12 years old. Its kids’ program incorporates Little Riggers for 3–7-year-olds (free!), Beach Riggers for 8–12 years (also free!) and teen activities for older teens (for a nominal fee). The water fun, games, local tours, educational action will keep the kids entertained. And special hikes, tours, sand dune adventures and visits to local communities will enrich your teens understanding of Fijian culture.

Blu Banana Kids’ Club, Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island

Pirate’s Cove is another club that packs in the action. Radisson is home to Fiji’s only whitewater tunnel slide and five lagoon pools – so if you can tear your 4–12-year-olds away from the water, they’ll love the activities like the Kids’ Olympics, art attack sessions, Can Cook Will Cook plus all the kids’ club staples. It runs on and off between 9am and 9pm, depending on the age of your child.

Little Chief’s Club, Shangri-La Yanuca Island Fiji

Shangri-La really knows how to utilise its superior facilities for some prime kid-friendly fun. The hotel is home to the only inflatable water park on the Coral Coast. Need we say more? Whether out on the beach, in the children’s pool splashing up a storm or hanging in the children’s playground, the stellar Fijian staff running the Little Chief’s Club for 2–12-year-olds know how to make the most of every day. It’s completely free, but babysitters are required for those under 4 years.

Side by Side Kids’ Club, Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort

The comprehensive Side by Side Kids’ Club will entertain children aged 4–12-years-old. There’s cultural fun with Fijian language lessons, fish feeding, artistic time with face painting or basket making and plenty of moving around.

Fiji Kids’ Corner, The Naviti Resort

The Kids’ Corner will go down a treat with your kids. This program for 5–12-year-olds is a hit, thanks to the huge range of arts and crafts, games and educational activities on offer. It runs from 10 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm each day, with a lunch break in between. The Kids’ Corner is all about balancing family fun with quality parent time.

Nui Beach Club For Kids, Sofitel Resort & Spa 

Sofitel has created a kids wonderland at the Nui Beach Club. One of the newest kids’ clubs on the island, your little ones will enjoy the splash and play areas, climbing wall, trampoline and three interactive indoor play areas for rainy days. There’s even a playhouse right on the beach, so your kids won’t miss out on any beach fun while you’re off exploring. Suitable for children 3-12-years-old, the club operates 9 am to 4 pm during the week, and 9 am to 9 pm on the weekends. Reserve your place for a nominal fee online. 

Family Week, Turtle Island 

Turtle Island is synonymous with honeymoons and private getaways; couples only. However, a few times a year, the resort bends the rules. During ‘Family Week’, the resort welcomes families of all shapes and sizes. Guests can expect a flexible activity program catering to every child’s interests. There’s everything from sporting events and water activities to fishing and arts and crafts. Kids aged five and under are provided with a nanny. Kids aged six years and above will have their own ‘Bula Buddy’. Rest easy knowing your kids are in the capable hands of Turtle Island’s experienced and fun-loving staff.

The Sheraton knows how to deliver a kids’ club experience that keeps families coming back. Tokoriki Island is no different. The Side by Side Kids’ club creates a kids paradise at the resort, allowing adults to enjoy some downtime during their stay. The Planet Trekkers Club at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is the perfect combination of flexibility and engaging activities. The Planet Trekkers program is split up into two age groups: 4-7-years old and 8-12-years old. Children under 4 are also welcome, but they need to be accompanied by a resort nanny. As well as the regular kids’ club activities, there’s even a dedicated Planet Trekkers app. Kids can create a virtual scrapbook of their adventures and learn about the history and culture of the area. Teens will appreciate the range of outdoor activities like Pitch & Putt, beach football and volleyball.
