You came for the beaches. You lingered for the spa. But ask your kids what they loved most about Bali? Chances are, it’ll be the kids’ club. Whether your young ones are into crafts or culture, sports or spirituality, Bali has a kids’ club to suit every age and interest. And they’re more than just a way to buy yourself a guilt-free cocktail. They’re educational fun factories where local flavour shines bright and children are treated like VIPs. There’s structure, but not too much; expert supervision, but never smothering. With creative corners, cultural encounters and plenty of room to roam, these clubs are all about learning, making friends and letting kids move to their own rhythm.

Gone are the days when a hotel kids’ club was just a room with a few toys and a television; many of Bali’s hotels and resorts now offer valuable, educational and cultural experiences for kids. The Apurva Kempinski Bali

Apurva Kempinski Bali’s Jalak Family Club offers a range of activities and supervision for kids aged three to 12. Younger kiddies can attend if they have a guardian or babysitter present. Activities are guided by a hands-on, child-led Montessori approach to learning. There’s an indoor playground, Balinese games, puppet shows, mask making, and movie time. The Jalak Family Club is open from 8am to 8pm but closes for an hour at 12pm and 5pm for cleaning.

The family club is not only built for kids, but also young adults and parents and special family classes like cookie making, painting classes, tie-dye workshops and cupcake decorating give the kids something to take home. When it’s time to fill hungry bellies, the creativity continues. Ayodya Resort Bali‘s kids’ club, Camp Ananda, organises a range of activities for children to enjoy from 9am to 7pm. While kids under 12 years old must be supervised by a guardian, all ages are invited to join in the sporty and cultural activities on offer. Challenge young bodies and minds with beach soccer, Jenga and aqua basketball, or encourage curious teens to dive into local culture by joining prayers, traditional weaving, Balinese music lessons and ketupat (rice cake wrapped in a palm leaf pocket) cooking sessions. Padma Resort Legian is amazing for kids, offering lots of family activities and multiple pool areas. Children aged four to 12 can enjoy the Wolly Kids Club’s fun supervised indoor and outdoor activities. They’ll love the arts and crafts,  yoga, Balinese Dancing, towel and paper origami, duck, turtle and fish feeding, canang sari decoration and bingo games. The Wolly Kids’ Club is open from 9am to 9pm. Children under four can also play at the club if they are with a babysitter or guardian.

The resort also has a games centre for kids six to 12, decked out with a Playstation, air hockey, table soccer and mini billiards.
