NSW’s new EV map makes charging stops part of the road trip fun.
Electric vehicle drivers in New South Wales now have a fresh way to turn charging time into exploring time, with the launch of a new interactive platform called EVenturemap.
The first-of-its-kind map helps drivers find EV charging stations across the state while also pointing them to nearby cafes, parks, shops, events, entertainment and even public toilets. The idea is simple: while your car charges, you can discover something new just a short stroll away.
Drivers enter their destination on eventuremap.nsw.gov.au to locate a charger. Once they arrive, they can either scan a QR code at the station or just use the website on their phone. The built-in GPS then shows local attractions within walking distance, turning a recharge stop into a mini road trip experience.
EVenturemap currently lists more than 2000 charging stations across NSW, with information regularly updated using data from government sources, tourism databases and local councils. New charging sites can also be added over time, helping the network grow as EV use increases.
The platform is designed to help drivers make the most of their time at every charging stop and encourage more spontaneous travel across the state. It also aims to help EV drivers explore NSW with confidence and ease whether they’re on a holiday, commuting or travelling for work.
The best part? It’s completely free and open to everyone, not just EV owners. Plug in, charge up and wander out.
