How to make the most of your Frozen the Musical experience in Sydney

Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical currently has Sydney enthralled.

The musical was postponed as the coronavirus pandemic took hold. But now it’s back and so is Frozen-fever.

Jemma Rix and Courtney Monsma, who play Elsa and Anna, worked with Destination NSW to put together this Frozen-inspired itinerary for anyone visiting Sydney to see the musical.

Follow the footsteps of the cast to make the most of your Frozen trip. 

Explore the icy-blue hues of Bondi  

Start your morning with the beautiful Bondi to Bronte coastal walk.

The picturesque trail connects three of Sydney’s most beautiful beaches, Bondi, Tamarama and Bronte, and offers uninterrupted ocean views throughout the entire walk – an absolute bucket list item for Elsa (Jemma Rix). 

Visit the Icebergs  

On your return loop of the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk, stop by The Crabbe Hole Café for a coffee whilst overlooking Bondi Icebergs pool, or if you’re in need of invigorating, take a dip.

Post swim, treat yourself to a memorable lunch at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar.

This Bondi institution is renowned for its panoramic views and an incredible menu that celebrates seasonal flavours and the finest locally sourced produce.

Frozen-inspired sweet treats  

Darling Square is the place to try fanciful sweet treats. Choose from venues including Kusuka Café, Dopa Donburi  & Milkbar, Iika Mazesoba and Auvers Dining.

The square is a short five-minute walk from Sydney’s Capitol Theatre, where Frozen the Musical is playing in Sydney. It’s a great family-friendly spot to grab a bite to eat pre-or post-show. 

Tantalise your taste buds with colourful Coronation Croissants, Snow Queen drinks, and even a delicious white hot chocolate ‘Warm Hugs’.

Sydney’s dessert mecca KOI Dessert Bar by the Poernomo Brothers, has also launched a series of desserts in collaboration with Frozen that are almost too pretty to eat. 

Experience a magical stay 

Spend a night in your very own Kingdom of Arendelle and turn your getaway into something magical.

Novotel Darling Square, a short seven-minute walk from Capitol Theatre is offering guests a Frozen-themed gift and complimentary Frozen refreshments.

Or you could indulge in a five-star stay at nearby Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, where you can take a dip in their rooftop pool.

For more boutique properties, try Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour, The Old Clare  Hotel and Paramount House Hotel, all within a 10-minute drive from Capitol Theatre.  

Cruise the harbour

Did you really visit Sydney if you didn’t explore the harbour on a boat?

Jemma and  Courtney recommend booking a private water taxi from Circular Quay to cruise past the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge at your leisure.

A cheaper option could be to hop on a ferry for a return trip to Milson’s Point (Luna Park) and back.

Take the water taxi or the ferry over to Taronga Zoo Sydney and spend the day visiting their 4,000 wonderful and unique animals from all over the globe.

Visitors can even arrange close encounters with their favourite wildlife – like Jemma and Courtney did with the penguins.

Make a day of it, stop for lunch and spend the night at the onsite luxury eco-retreat – Wildlife Retreat at Taronga, overlooking the magnificent Sydney Harbour.
