Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will open at Disneyland Paris in 2021.
The four star hotel will have themed suites and restaurants dedicated to Marvel characters such as Iron Man and Captain America.
Disneyland Paris originally planned to open the hotel in 2020, but that was delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
Disney says the hotel’s standard rooms will be decked out in “Manhattan-style decor”. Expect red and grey art-deco furniture and superhero-themed artwork adorning the walls.
The “Empire State rooms” will have more space and a few extra luxuries. Disney revealed these rooms will also feature Iron Man tributes.
The suites really take the Marvel theme up a notch. Disney said the hotel will have a Spiderman suite, a swish Avengers suite and a luxury presidential suite that spans two floors.
The Disneyland Paris Marvel hotel will have plenty of character meet-and-greets and this will be the ONLY Disney hotel where they make an appearance.
It will also boast one of the largest collections of Marvel artwork in the world with more than 300 items on display.
The kids will love the Metro swimming pool inspired by New York’s famous subway. The hotel will also host the Marvel design studios where guests can learn to draw their own comic books.
Thor’s home of Asgard is the inspiration for the hotel’s Manhattan Restaurant. Disney says it will have plenty of gold and a luminous sculpture shaped like a chandelier.
Disney Imagineers used New York deli’s as their inspiration for the Marvel Hotel’s Downtown restaurant. It’s worth a visit just to see the 90 plus sketches by Marvel designers.
The Skyline bar is the place for pre-dinner cocktails. Disney says it will make guests feel like they are standing atop a New York city skyscraper.
Disneyland Paris is closed until February 2021, due to the COVID pandemic. However, they are building a brand new Marvel land Walt Disney Studios Park which will open as soon as the pandemic is over.
The ride everyone is talking about is Web Slingers: a Spiderman Adventure.
Guests will board subway train style vehicles for an adventure with Spiderman as he battles an army of Spider bots.
It may be a while until Australians can travel to Paris again. But this is one adventure that is worth popping on your bucket list.
