Virgin Australia takes to the skies with Toy Story 5 plane

Virgin Australia rolls out Toy Story games, activations and experiences on domestic flights. 

Families flying with Virgin Australia are in for a playful surprise, with the airline unveiling a brand-new Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5-themed aircraft ahead of the movie’s cinema release on 18 June 2026. Revealed on 25 May, the custom-designed Boeing 737-800 marks Virgin Australia’s first co-branded aircraft livery in almost a decade and it’s already turning heads faster than a flying Buzz Lightyear.

The nostalgic design features beloved Toy Story favourites Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear splashed across the aircraft, celebrating more than 30 years since the iconic characters first arrived in Andy’s bedroom and into family movie nights around the world. The themed plane will fly across the airline’s domestic network, bringing a little Pixar magic to Aussie family holidays and school-break getaways.

Toy Story experiences by Virgin Australia

• From 1 June 2026, mums, dads and kids can enjoy a full Toy Story 5 experience throughout the Virgin Australia journey, including themed airport activations, lounge experiences and onboard entertainment. 
• Kids will receive complimentary Toy Story colouring packs. 
• Families can stream the Toy Story collection alongside more than 60 Disney classics through the airline’s free in-flight entertainment system. 
• Virgin Australia is also launching ‘Toy Tickets’, an Australian airline-first allowing children to request a personalised boarding pass for their favourite teddy or cuddly toy at check-in. 

• Gaming fans can join the adventure with a new inflight Toy Story 5 game available on domestic flights from 15 June to 19 July 2026. 
• Children who play the game will have the chance to enter a competition to win a Pixar-themed holiday experience in Tokyo for up to four people. 
• Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum Plus members will receive exclusive early access to special Toy Story 5 screenings in selected locations around Australia.
