Grab your lightsabers and little ones – Australia’s first Star Wars café has landed in Melbourne.
LEGO Star Wars: The Exhibition is the first of its kind in the world, and it’s right here in Australia. Created by Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught – the only LEGO Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere – the exhibition showcases the biggest collection of life-sized LEGO Star Wars models in the world. It’s also where you will find the Star Wars Galactic Café, an immersive new dining experience where young Padawans and their Jedi parents can sip, snack and explore the Force together.
Hosted by Museums Victoria, together with The Walt Disney Company Australia & New Zealand, LEGO Star Wars™: The Exhibition opened on 4 May 2025 (of course!), bringing Aussie fans breathtaking builds of fan-favourite characters, vehicles and scenes. However, families wanting to pair their exhibition visit with brunch, lunch or afternoon snacks at the Star Wars Galactic Café will need to book a visit from 7 June 2025, when the eatery officially opens.
Developed in collaboration with Museums Victoria, Disney and Lucasfilm, the Galactic Café is an Australian-first food and beverage concept from the Star Wars galaxy, and it promises to take fans of all ages on an out-of-this-world journey. Taking inspiration from beloved characters and moments from the saga, visitors dine aboard a Corellian Star Cruiser and order from a menu inspired by the Star Wars franchise, including iconic blue milk. While the full menu details haven’t yet been revealed, it promises to have something to suit every member of the family.
Bookings are recommended for sittings at Galactic Café, which will be open daily from 10:30am to 3:30pm, and families can visit before or after exploring the exhibition. Presenting incredible models crafted from more than eight million LEGO bricks and 25,000+ hours of building, the exhibition brings the epic saga to life in an entirely new way. Visitors will be the first in the world to step into immersive displays and engage in hands-on experiences, from helping build large-scale Star Wars LEGO landscapes to taking part in interactive digital activities inspired by epic space battles. Younglings will even have the chance to build their very own LEGO brick lightsaber and compete against their friends in augmented reality.
